Abstract:MgO/A12O3andFe2O3/MgO/A12O3solidbaseswerepreparedthroughmixingmethod.Aftersulfonated
cobaltphthalocyanine(CoPcS)beingsupportedonthesesolidbases,thecatalyticperformanceofthesecatalystswas
evaluatedbymeansofmercaptanoxidationreaction.ThesampleswerecharacterizedbyX—raydiffraction(XRD),CO2
temperature—programmeddesorption(CO2一TPD),FTIRspectroscopy,andX—rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS).
InvestigationwasfocusedontheeffectofFe203onactivity,crystalstructure,basicity,andstabilityofthecatalystand
alsoontheroleofFe2O3inthemercaptanoxidationprocesses.TestresultshaveshownthattheFeeOffMgOA/1203一
CoPcScatalysthasahigherinitialactivityandamuchlongerservicelifethantheMgO/A1203一CoPcScatalyst.The
increasedtypesofbasicsitescoupledwithanenhancedoxidationabilityresultedfrom theadditionofFe203have
contributedtotheimprovementofthecatalyticactivityoftheMgO/A1203一CoPcScatalyst.
