(1) Construction of new godowns:- In the month of July, 2016 New godowns of 62,820 MT capacity has been added by FCI in Madhya Pradesh in the month of July, 2016 under PEG scheme. Thus, the Cumulative capacity added in the scheme upto 31/07/2016 has been increased upto 135.46 Lakh MT from the capacity of 134.83 Lakh MT in June, 2016. (2) Construction of Modern Silos for storage of foodgrains:- (i) Food Corporation of India (FCI) has selected partners for construction of 2.5 Lakh MT capacity of silos in VGF mode at following six places:- Sl Location Party Capacity (in Lakh MT) 1 Katihar, Bihar Adani Agri Logistics Ltd. 50,000 2 Whitefield,Karnataka Sudheeksha Warehouse & Construction Company 25,000 3 Kotkapura, Punjab Adani Agri Logistics Ltd. 25,000 4 Narela, Delhi Sri Karthikeya Spinning & Weaving Mills Pvt. Ltd. 50,000 5 Sahnewal, Punjab Sri Karthikeya Spinning & Weaving Mills Pvt. Ltd. 50,000 6 Changsgari, Assam Sri Karthikeya Spinning & Weaving Mills Pvt. Ltd. 50,000 (ii) RFP has been floated under Non-VGF mode for 27 locations for a total capacity of 13.5 LMT on 25/05/2016. Pre-bid meeting in this regard was organized on 14.06.2016. Bids scheduled on 26.08.2016 have been opened in which 29 bidders participated with 145 bids. (3) Depot Online System:- FCI is implementing Depot Online System to automate depot operations and link its all depots via online network. It was launched on 17.03.2016. As on 31.08.2016, it has been made operational in 515 depots. (4) e-Procurement System:- FCI is working on adding a module to its Depot Online System to implement online procurement of foodgrains and to make it operational for KMS 2016-17. This will include registration of farmers, monitoring of procurement and online payment to farmers to bring transparency in grain procurement. Software development has been done and demonstrated on 19.08.2016. Final changes are being made after which it will be put to user test. ******
