Objective.Toinvestigatebalancefunctionsinolderwomenandevaluatetheassociationofthefear-avoidancebeliefsmodel(FABM) factorswithbalanceandmobilityperformance.Participants.FifteenolderwomenwithCLBPwascomparedwithage-matched pain-freecontrols(n=15).MainOutcomeMeasures.Painintensity,falls-relatedself-e?cacyandintrinsicconstructsintheFABM wereevaluated.Posturalsteadiness(centreofpressure(COP))andmobilityfunctionswereassessed.LinearrelationshipsofFABM variableswithCOPandmobilityscorewereestimated.Results.CLBPshowedlowermobilityscorecomparedtocontrols.CLBP presentedlowerfalls-relatedself-e?cacyanditwasassociatedwithreducedmobilityscores.FABMvariablesandfalls-related self-e?cacywerecorrelatedwithposturalsteadiness.PhysicalactivitywasreducedinCLBP,butnobetween-groupdi?erencewas evidentforkneeextensorstrength.NosystematiclinkageswereobservedbetweenFABMvariableswithmobilityscoreorpostural steadiness.Conclusions.Backpainstatusa?ectsbalanceandmobilityfunctionsinolderwomen.Falls-relatedself-e?cacyislower inCLBPandisassociatedwithreducedmobility.DisusesyndromeinCLBPelderlyispartl
