Abs tract: The research on self-assembly monomolecular filmshasbeen extensively concerned in recent
years. W ith the expansion of films application, there is an increasing demand in the assembling tech-
nology and methods for characterization of films. This paper summarizes the recent major synthesis
methods of self-assembly films and them anagement of base surface. Presenting a short view of the pro-
gress in the research on them ethods for characterization of self-assemblymonomolecular films, from the
point of view of electrochem istry, spectroscopy and m icroscopy, this paper also tries to foretell the
prospect in this field.
