国内外生物医学工程学科教育概况(General situation of Biomedical Engineering Education at home and abroad)
Biomedical Engineering (Biomedical-Engineering) is a new interdisciplinary subject, its theories and methods of comprehensive engineering, biology and medicine, the state change of human body system at all levels, and the use of engineering techniques to control this kind of change, the purpose is to solve the relevant problems in medicine, protect human health and disease the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation services. It has a branch of bioinformatics that focuses on biology and chemistry
Biomedical engineering emerged in the 1950s. It has a close relationship with medical engineering and biotechnology, and has developed rapidly. It has become one of the main fields of competition in the world.
Biomedical engineering, like other disciplines, is also determined by technological, social, and economic factors. The term first appeared in the United states. In 1958, the International Federation of medical electronics was established in the United States. In 1965, the organization was renamed the International Union of medical and biological engineering and later became the international society for biomedical engineering.
In addition to good social benefits, biomedical engineering also has good economic benefits and a very broad prospect. It is one of the high technologies developed by all countries at present. In 1984, for example, the market for biomedical engineering and systems in the United States was about $11 billion. The American Academy of Sciences estimates that by 2000 its output is expected to reach $400~1000.
Biomedical Engineering in electronics, microelectronics, modern computer technology, basic chemistry, polymer chemistry, modern physics, mechanics, optics, X-ray technology, precision machinery and modern high-tech development, developed in combination withthe medical conditions. Its development is closely related to the development of high tech
