Instructional objectives At the end of my class, students should be able to 1) Comprehend the whole passage. 2) Develop reading skills: prediction, skimming, scanning,careful reading. 3) Use adjectives to describe Yuan Longping’s good qualities with the help of information in the text. 2. Educational objectives At the end of my class, students should be able to 1) Study individually and cooperatively 2) Get more familiar with some reading strategies: getting main idea through reading the title and looking at pictures; getting information by finding out key words and sentences. 3. Personal objectives During the whole class, the teacher should be able to 1) Involve as many students as possible in activities. 2) Manage the class step by step. Contents: Text: A Pioneer For All People Focal points: Students can develop reading skills (prediction, skimming, scanning and careful reading). Difficult points: Students can use adjectives to describe Yuan Longping’s good qualities. Procedures and Time Allotment Stage 1 Greetings and lead-in (5 mins) T: Class begins.
