Opinions are divided among the students. Some students say yes. They express their reasons as follows. To begin with, they can express their feelings and thoughts freely. Besides, chatting on line is also helpful for our language study. However, others hold the opposite view. They argue that making friends online is a waste of time, which should be spent on study.
