Rat AECs were seeded on the nitrocellulose microporous filte. After an eight days seeding, the monolaye could be used for measuring the permeability. Before being perfused, monolaye were treated with Benazepril, Amlodipine and Carvedilol for four hou successively. The prepared filte were mounted on the Boydon chambe and perfused with hyperlipemia containing fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)labeled albumin. The fluid filtering through the monolaye and the filter was collected and the albumin concentration was measured. At the same time, the concentratio of cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), highdeity lipoprotein (HDL) and lowdeity lipoprotein (LDL) in the collected fluid were also measure by Benazepril and Amlodipine decreased the permeability of the confluent AEC monolaye to water, cholesterol, TG, HDL and LDL significantly (P). Amlodipine had more significant effects than the former two drugs. Carvedilol had no obvious Benazepril and Amlodipine may decrease the infiltration of lipids and lipoprotei into the subendothelial space, and can be thus used to prevent and ameliorate atherosclerosis.
