It is a sign of high star-rated hotel. Some luxury hotels provide room service round the clock and guests can take order by telephone. Room service cost is a little higher than the cost of a hotel restaurant, and it is a small profit item in the hotel. Food must be delivered immediately with proper temperature. If a guest’s lunch order arrives an hour late, the guest will become annoyed and lose his temper. Incorrect orders also complicate the system, as it takes plenty of time to return an incorrect order to the kitchen, have it redone, and transport it back to the guest’s room.
