KEYFINDINGS71%onaverageacross30countriessaytheyarehappy.ThisishighestintheNetherlands(85%)andlowestinHungary(48%)andSouthKorea(48%)54%saytheyaresatisfiedwiththeirfinancialsituation.ThisislowestinJapan(36%)followedbyHungary(37%),SouthKoreaandArgentina(both40%)ofparentssaytheyaresatisfiedwiththeirchildren.Youngparents(GenZ)aretheleastsatisfied(64%)84%aresatisfiedwiththeirfriends.82%ofBabyBoomersaresatisfiedwiththeirfriends,whilethisfallsto74%forMillennials76%saythey’resatisfiedwiththeirjob.Thoseinhigher-incomehouseholdsaremoresatisfied(79%)thanthoseinlower-incomehouseholds(63%)73%Theproportionofpeoplesayingthey’rehappywas63%duringthefirstyearofthepandemicin2020andnowsitsat71%.Whilethere’sbeenarebound,happinesslevelsarestillbelowthehistorichighsof77%setin2011and2013+8ppsaytheyarenotsatisfiedwiththesocialandpoliticalsituationintheircountry.Inonlyfivecountries–India,Singapore,Thailand,IndonesiaandAustralia–arepeoplemorelikelytobesatisfiedwiththeircountries’politicalsystem57%3??Ipsos|GlobalHappiness2024
