Frost was awarded the Pulitzer Prize four times in his life. Frost’s poems show deep appreciation of natural world and sensibility about the human aspirations and realizations.?“Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” is generally regarded as Frost’s masterpiece, which he viewed as his?“best bid for remembrance.”? The narrator in the poem, a traveler by horse on the darkest night of the year, stops to gaze at woods filled with snow. While he is drawn to the beauty of the woods, he has obligations which pull him away from the allure of nature. The simple words and rhyme scheme of the poem give it an easy flow, which adds to the tranquility of the piece.? The total sixteen lines use symbolism and rhyme to tell people that the narrator has strong self-awareness and the narrator will not take the wrong way full of allure. Everyone has some aspirations, but how they could be realized in the future is a different problem for different people. He is a common person with promises and responsibilities which need him to complete. Something is the transformation of aspiration and realization. Today’s aspiration transforms itself into tomorrow’s realization. Again, tomorrow’s realization is the pathfinder of a higher and deeper goal. Ⅱ. Robert Frost and His Poems ? A. Robert Frost In any list of important poets in the twentieth century, Robert Lee Frost?(1874-1963) was perhaps the most beloved poet in America and the most successful American poet widely accepted all over the world. He was the Pulitzer Prize winner on four occasions; he received honorary degrees from about 40 colleges and universities; and American government presented him a gold medal in 1960 for his contribution to American culture.
