Abstract
month and 1 years after year after surgery by treated with high viscosity bone cement or low viscosity bone cement ,P<0.05. The differences were statistically significant. However, There was no statistically difference between the two groups.
But the rate of leakage in the low viscosity bone cement group was 23.1%,while in
the high viscosity bone cement group was 6.25%. P<0.05. The differences were statistically significant.
Conclusion: This randomized controlled study showed that in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) by percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) or percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). Either treated with high viscosity bone cement or low viscosity bone cement can quickly reduce the pain of patients, improved the quality of life of patients. There was a quite clinical curative effect between the two groups. But rate of leakage in the high viscosity bone cement group was lower then in the low viscosity bone cement group. Treated with high viscosity bone cement can improve the safety of PVP or PKP.
