Teacher plays the video to present another UNESCO World Heritage Site and do Activity 1. Add one more question: What measures have been taken to protect the reef? 1’ Step 2 Prediction Teacher guides the students to do Activity 2 to predict “the best job” and the main idea of the passage. 15’ Step 3 Reading for main idea Teacher guides the students to read the passage to choose the topic sentence for each paragraph. Teacher asks the students to read the passage to get the main idea of the passage. 10’ Step 4 Reading for detailed information Teacher encourages the students to read again to answer the questions: 1) What job is introduced in the passage? 2) What island is taken care of? Why does it need caring? 3) What have you known about the Great Barrier Reef? 4) Who got the job?
