Vocabulary: went, the Great Wall, saw, ate, had, bought, climb,mountatin, wore, ice-skating, fell over, hurt, learnt, skate, fall over.   Language: We went on a school trip. We went ice-skating. I wore warm clothes----trousers and a sweater.   Function: Describe visits.   Key points: I wore warm clothes. It didn’t hurt.   Difficult points:   Wear – wore, trousers and sweater, learn – learnt, fall – fell.   Teach aids: CAI, pictures and word-cards.   Teach steps and contents:   Step 1 Warmer   1. Act as Daming and Sam to try to retell their traveling experience. The teacher can give the helpful words, such as: went, climbed, saw, ate, bought.   2. Play a game. The teacher say the verbs and the students say out their past tense.   Step 2 Presentation   1. The teacher pretends to take out a letter. Open it and say, “Yesterday, Lucy wrote a letter to me. She told me something about her school trip. Do you want to know it?” Then show it on the screen and read it loudly   2. Teacher hangs the picture on the blackboard. And at the same time play the cassette once. Ask the students to circle the difficult words. Ask students to find out the irregular verbs’ past tense and try to find out their original words. Such as: go – went, wear – wore, is – was, fall – fell, learn – learnt, hurt – hurt. The teacher writes them on the blackboard, and lead to read these words and get familiar with them.   3. Play the cassette again. This time pause after each sentence, and let the students imitate after it.   4. Give them three minutes to read the letter. And then the teacher gives the hints, the picture and the key words, and asks students to try to recite the letter without looking at their books.   5.
