Methods 50 stable angina were divided into two groups , conventional group and dahen group ,in conventional group , Nitroret and Metoprolol was administered ;in dahen group ,on the basis of the treatment as conventional group , compound dahen dropping pill was added , symptom limited increased exercise programe was applied before and 1、3 months after treatment , cardiopulmonary exercise itrument was applied to measure the volume of oxygen uptake（VO2）、volume ejection of CO2 per min（VCO2）、respiratory quotient（RQ）before and after submaximal exercise and the value were compared , the index in conventional group and that in dahen group were also compared . Results Under rated power of 60Watts ,the VO2 and VCO2 were higher in CHD patients than those in healthy groups ,and RQ was significantly higher（P＜）；on the basis of conventional therapy, the combining use of . compound dahen dropping pill significantly improved VO2、VCO2、RQ after 1 month of treatment (compared with those before treatment ) ＜）.
