Ask the students to talk about freely: What are teenage problems? What is your teenage problem? 2. The students can have different answers. Ask some of them to talk in front of the class. Step 2 Presentation 1. Show them a picture and present some new words. —What is the boy’s problem? —He is not listening to the teacher carefully in class. —What is on his mind? —Playing computer games. 2. Ask and answer: T: What is on the man’s mind? Ss: His hometown. 3. Ask the students to talk in pairs. Step 3 Comic strip 1. Ask the students to listen and answer: (1) What is on Eddie’s mind? (2) Does Eddie want to grow up? (3) Will Eddie build his house by himself? Answers: (1) Growing up. (2) No, he doesn’t. (3) No. He asks Hobo to build it for him. 2. Read and act the dialogue. 3. Fill in the blanks. (1) Ask the students to complete the task individually. Eddie has something on his _______. He is worried that he’s growing too ________ for his house. Hobo advises him to _________ another one, but Eddie asks Hobo not to ________ him up until he ________ building the house. (2) Check the answers in groups. Then check them together.
